Israel stood at the edge of the Red Sea with Pharaoh's army behind them and nowhere to go. It looked like the end. Bishop Battle reminded us that God never brings you out just to leave you stuck in between. He brings you out to take you in.
He told the story of a chess champion who studied a famous painting called Checkmate. Everyone believed the game was over. But the champion kept looking and finally said, somebody needs to change the name of this picture, because the king still has another move. Whatever they wrote about you, whatever they put in paperwork, the King of kings always has another move.
Three Takeaways
- He brought you out to take you in. You can come out of darkness and still need to move into light. Deliverance has a destination.
- Faith always finds a way. Like water, it goes under, around, or keeps pressing until the rock gives way.
- It is not checkmate. People may give up on you too soon. God has not.
A Prayer for This Week
Lord, when I feel boxed in, remind me that You have another move. Help me stand still, trust You, and walk into everything You brought me out for. In Jesus' name, amen.
